I dithered about writing that post because I didn’t want it to be seen as a dump on you. And you’re right, I should have excised the line about anger/pique. As I pointed out, I haven’t read Sheehy’s book, so I can’t comment on whether she actually says “any elder woman who is not having sex like a young bunny is a sad case”–or whether that’s your reading of her. The only reason I suspect it’s the latter is that it is such a totalizing comment, and Sheey is usually a more careful journalist. Shall we agree to disagree? I’ll look forward to your blog in the future….

I couldn’t agree more, Jane that women should not be dumping on each other. But that is the case with Ms. Sheehy who has decided that any elder woman who is not having sex like a young bunny is a sad case. In Sheehy’s view, sex is her way or highway.

I’m sorry, having just discovered your blog, to discover a tendency similar to Ms. Sheehy’s for long-distance analysis of of a stranger’s mental state. Ms. Sheehy is only a writer; a psychologist should know better.
