Around the corner from my house a discount stores sells these cheap glasses for $1 per pair. Yippee! I seem to have problems with my prescribed pair. Once I had on a cheap pair (you may have realized they're good for reading only) while working on the computer. My son came in and handed me some change after running an errand. I put the coins on my lap while I put the bills in my wallet, the whole time forgetting I had the glasses on. Suddenly I noticed that the coins on my lap looked very odd. I was about to say aloud, "Why are these quarters so humongous?" I'd formed my mouth but stopped just in time to realize that I was looking at the quarters magnified. YES! It seems the ultimate irony to me that just as your close up sight goes, one's chin and face hairs start going crazy! It is so embarrassing to suddenly catch site of that inch long white hair growing out of the middle of your cheek or chin that you can no longer see without glasses.
