Fifty-f*cking-two in June. And yes, gravity is a sad fact of life and yes, I've officially reached the place where "looks good for her age" is the nicest compliment I can reasonably expect. Oh, and that whole 'can't remember your neighbor's last name but for some inexplicable reason you remember all the words to "Hey Hey We're The Monkees?" Yeah, I got that too. There is certainly a lot to be said for Wisdom and Experience-- it's just that Youth and Stupidity looked a lot better in a swimsuit. I’m SO there. Fifty-f*cking-two in June. I still remember my syllables, so I must be fairly sentient. Ri-i-ght? KJ I can’t even say my number without the f-word between syllables. I still remember my syllables, so I must be fairly sentient. I just recently found this blog and am thoroughly enjoying it! I turned 54 this past May, but somehow forgot and have been telling people who ask that I will be 54 NEXT May. The loss of memory can be convenient, but at this point forgetting one year is not the big deal it is when you're much younger. How many 19 year olds forget they are of legal drinking age (in many places). The same goes for the age of 21. But at 40 we hang onto 39 for as long as possible and after 50 we no longer feel the need to be specific about the number. Great post, you have me smiling. Glad we can find some things to laugh about at our "old geezers" age (thanks to my son in law for that one). Gotta love those youngsters . . . And Phhhst, I asterisked out the U in f*ck because I was afraid my grandson would read it and my "perfect" Nana cover would be blown. (But you know it doesn't come with an asterisk when I say it out loud.) Y'all come visit me at http://nanadiaries.wordpress.com. KJ Hey, thanks all. I'd like suspenders for my boobs, please. I’ve got all of you beat and in the last couple of months, it seems to me it’s all gotten lower. I’d like suspenders for my boobs, please.

Yes, to make it through my 50th last year, I had to completely upturn my life's apple cart. I succeeded and gleefully watched the apples rolling every which way until it hit me a month ago, that 50 Freakin' 1 was rapidly coming my way. That wiped the mischievous smile off my face.
