She didn’t come across as a pain to me; it was just clear she was still very much taking care of you, and that’s sweet.

I belong to a support group of caregivers, and a lot of folks do talk about how hard it is to let go of that role once someone gets better…I guess it’s hard to stop worrying. We can love them for it but it can still drive us nuts sometimes (especially if we raised them ourselves!)

I *love* the hat and scarf party idea!

My daughter was a rock during the ordeal. She even planned a surprise hat and scarf party with all my friends. She comes off a little bit of a pain in the story, but normally she’s awefully sweet. Apprently she embarrasses easier than me!

God bless you for sharing this story. I was laughing and almost crying at the same time. Let me just say that your sense of humor is awesome and while you’re inner monologue may not have been cool — you are!

Just keep taking care of yourself and the jelly boobs be damned!
