As long, of course, as it isn’t super irresponsible. And as long as one grows out of it eventually. Sounds like he had some fun for a while, not much harm done except driving you cuhrazy.

Money IS fun to have for a while until you realize you aren’t much happier and in many cases are less happy than you were when you had to LONG for that gear, save for that gear, go gear window shopping until you could save your pennies to buy the piece you wanted. And then it meant something to you, you deeply appreciated it!

He’s had a great experience of the difference and I bet he is oh so appreciating his return to the musician life. 🙂

Not that I don’t appreciate money–it makes life easier and comes in handy for things like food. And an occational trip to Mexico. But stuff will never make you happy. Creating art, on the other hand, will always fill up your soul.
