I guess I'm too old-fashioned for this world of need-to-be-constantly-connected technology. I deactivated my Facebook after a few weeks, too. I dunno. Maybe it's just me and I'm not that much of a social animal. But I find so much of this social networking stuff too stressful and it ends up wasting even more of the precious little time I find for my computer as it is. I'm lucky to find time to blog and that's where my heart lies. It remains my priority on here. As to the millions and billions who thrive on being connected, more power to them. Like my 30-year-old son said to me not long ago, "Mom, this is the only world I've known" when I asked him how he can stand being so constantly bombarded by cell calls and text messages. That stopped me in my tracks, for sure. It's just not for me. As I was setting up a Twitter account I deleted it before I even published it. One of the benefits that I have found is that when I am looking for a topic to write about or looking for people talking about a subject I can use the search feature to find those people. I have stumbled into great sites/blogs that way and I get to break out of my over dependence on search engines. People will talk and twitter. Somebody knows something and Twitter can help you find them. Oh, yeah, use hash marks # as a search tool as well. I think I use search more than I tweet. I was dragged to Twitter. To give credit where it's due---it's all due to Jane. I am not sure I am addicted---also not sure I even get the point. But I am, as you say, having good fun. Didn't even have a clue what it was, but I read somewhere I should have an account. So, after your post, I took a guess at my username and password and logged in. Then I played...And I found it was good fun. Though I am still not completely sure I get the point, Ican see why people get addicted.
