There is this woman in her 60's dressing like she is 20. I mean come on dress your age already. I guess some people can't get over the fact that aging comes naturally I am with you on this. I have a dress that will never fit me again, but I can't bear to part with it. I've actually confessed to wanting to be buried in it which is probably the only way I'll ever get into it. Plus, it lots great on me! Might as well know I'm going out in style :-)! But seriously--I think we all have the problem of knowing what is and isn't appropriate at "our age," but when we see "bad taste" on someone else, boy do we recognize it! Well, I probably do because I've had the luxury of a walk in closet for many years. A move to a Manhattan apartment would probably cure me of that. Her response was "I think it's cute...for you." At the time, I laughed and thought - yep she means for an old lady like me. But now I'm wondering if what she said makes sense. I like the idea of dressing my age - but redefining what that means to me. While shopping with my niece, I asked her opinion of something I was trying on. But maybe I should rethink that... I used to think my highest wardrobe compliment was if one of my daughters wanted to borrow what I was wearing. But maybe I should rethink that…

I volley between not caring how I look (because caring elevates my disappointment) to reacting to what I see in the mirror which is confusion. Who is that person and what should she look like? It was easier when we were younger not just because we looked better but because the styles for the generations was defined. Age appropriate is in the eye of the beholder. Yikes!
