I never ever think about regret - I learn something from each and every experience. The aborted New York trip was one I've yet to discover its purpose and lesson, but I'm patient. I really do wish I could have gotten there for the corn and thunderstorms though. Oh, yeah - and visits with the family. Thank you for your comments and for reading my story. I've driven across the country (always with another driver) maybe half a dozen times, but not since I was 30. I'd love to do it again. I think you were brave to embark and brave to turn around.
