Aaron...
Hope your deadline project is coming along. Reading your post put me right back in graduate school (which I did as a midlifer!). I would get to the point you were at and just think--"Can't do it. Don't wanna do it." Sometimes I'd even call the prof to say I couldn't do it. Somehow, though, I always came through and got it done. I think the act of saying I can't do it--or changing the deadline in your mind--somehow releases the blocks.
Good luck....

That's good advice, it sorta helped me out :) I myself have got a deadline this frday (8th) and im trying to complete it all which in my opinion is tackling the impossible.

It's a university deadline not a work place. Design Degree course and the deadline date is set in stone or I lose 20% of mark, then 50% for another day and then Fail for last day.

So I'm in a state of do it or die :P plus im doing that whilst ive got a nast cough and its snowing outside :D ahh lovely days lol

HI Laura - assume your "deadline" was your 45th birthday! Well, congrats! As a 53 year young, I can only tell you that the best is yet to come! Truly - best kept secret.

Yes, like anything else, deadlines have their uses - we just need to make sure that we control them rather than making them control us.

Here's to an amazing 2010!

I'm having a deadline of my own tomorrow. I turn 45. Some deadlines hit harder than others. I've also got to send you the Great Interview questions which let go for a couple of weeks longer than I expected. No matter how we try to change our attitude about deadlines they still creep right along. Sometimes they are good though, keep you on track and give you discipline.
