The way to make that happen is for each of us to make those steps. We can’t really challenge the card industry but we can show our love for all people every day and do kind things. Having written this I will now feel a little obligation to take action on my words. You could do the same thing!

I support this post. I would love for Valentine’s Day to change. it is not about lovers and should not be about them anymore. Things have changed. I think it should be about other things, just like what you mentioned in your blog.

Nice piece, Laura, and that photo is clever! Instead of candy or roses or anything particularly “romantic,” my husband and I decided(or rather I decided and got him to agree) that we would go on a little family adventure that day instead. We live in Southern California, so we are going on a whale-watching expedition. For less than $100, my husband, my daughter and I are going to celebrate Valentine’s sending some love to the migrating whales!
