Jane-
Enjoyed your post- you have an infectious writing style. My take on the subject: I would guest post on a blog for free before I would write for $1 per article.

Writing has become a "devalued commodity". Jees-sus. What a sad statement.

Thanks for the info Jane. These are sites I hadn't heard of before.

Hope you summer is going well. You have a birthday coming up next weekend, right! Happy birthday!

@Barbara,
Had a distressing exchange with a social media guy today. He told me that writing has become the devalued commodity and is very cheap to get. Yeah. Sigh. Shit.

@Walker,
I'm going to a seminar tomorrow on 'getting paid for writing' or some such thing. I'll let you know what I find out.

Thanks for the info and advice. I had wondered about some of those sites - I'm short on writing time and have to be careful where I invest it!

Perfect!
I am in this boat... looking and not getting jobs, selling myself a little short just to get a resume going!
I've done a few jobs on Elance, bidding against someone who always bids at roughly $1.00 for a 500 word article every time!! Idiot.

Problogger.net has a job listing feature, down at the bottom of the page! Been there, applied to more than a few jobs and, like you, never got any answer! ugh.. this making a living sucks! Sex trade sounds like a surer bet for paying the monthly mortgage sometimes!
And, I'm joking, I love writing and find that the more I do, the better I get. You've been a help in that process. Thanks,
Walker

@injaynesworld,
That's what I love about blogging: I start off thinking I'm writing about one thing and by the time I'm finished, something else becomes the topic. Talk about writing to find out what I'm really thinking.....
