It helps all of us to hear all sides of it. I'm struggling with the weight issue and my sluggish metabolism as well. It can be a frustrating scary period, I agree. I've managed to find some sense of freedom and joy as I come out on the other end.. though I also have to keep plucking those damned hairs!!! Geez. Connie,

I'm pissed not yet to have started menopause. I guess now I can be pissed off when it starts. Like you, I'll try and keep my sense of humor. Maybe I'll get hit by a truck instead. I'm in full blown menopausal malaise and absolutely friggin hate it. I'd like to birch slap women who are able to skip gleefully through menopause without a care or symptom. Ugh. Hang in there. xo jj I am so feeling your pain. I’m in full blown menopausal malaise and absolutely friggin hate it. Whether it's the hot flashes, mood swings or the weight gain, I'm tired. I don't even feel like complaining anymore. It seems like it does get harder and harder to bounce back. Everything settles down, including the weight shifts, and your inner Goddess emerges again. What that means is that this period of malaise, too, shall pass. With a spirit and sense of humor like yours, that's a given! The only thing I know for sure is that change is a constant.
