How did you sell it?

Had wanted a Patty Playpal, but that never materialized, I think my mother could not bear to have anything that resembled yet another kid in the house….. One of us had a Tiny Tears, she leaked all over the place. Did have a Barbie with short curly brown hair that I named Annette after Annette Funicello from the Mickey Mouse Club. But I really coveted the Barbie with the high fuzzy blonde ponytail that my sister had.

Ginnies et al. The only item that held its worth was Stief. Go figure.

Oh! You had one of those Shirley Temple dolls. I so coveted her. I used to set the “Susie of the moment’s” hair in curlers trying to get those ringlets.

There is nothing like that special doll at Christmas. I knew “we weren’t in Kansas anymore” the year my 3 year old niece received 4 FOUR !!!! dolls for Christmas. She hugged each of them, but still…..

I missed the Barbie period, drat it! Although I do remember sending a kid I was babysitting to bed early so I could play with her Barbies.

My sisters and I played for hours on end with our Barbies. Our grandmother made us loads of clothes for them. It was grand!
Thanks for the reminder.
