My first thought when the news outlets reported on Dooce was that “it must be a slow news day”. Then I remembered that in many ways, blogging is like reality television minus the paycheck.

And we’ve created a monster in the mirror image of ourselves. Blogging is the neighborhood fence: readers knew more about Dooce than they do their own neighbors, and it effects them as such. Still sad, and i only wish we shared empathy with our neighbors as those we do our invisible friends.

In other gag-worthy news, nothing like a stomach virus for a good 5-7 lbs.
