I’m glad that my kids have a little of both their parents’ family traditions in the mix. I look forward to seeing what they carry on from us to their own kids. I think those are the memories that really mean something to them. And thank you, Matthew is a pretty great kid (unless you ask his brothers).

As I sit back and watch them all grow up, they still need their parents. But now it’s for different reasons. Seemingly, they are far more expensive! ;-)

It’s easy to think that they aren’t really paying attention, but the truth is they are – all too often!

The memories we have of our children are so precious…and what a gift to have your son want to emulate you.

Of course I loved it when I first read it when you 1st posted it. The best and worst feeling is watching your children outgrow the what you want them to need us for!

As my kids mature, we are at the phase where they are finding out who they are, separate from us. I am looking forward to the day I see them coming back to their roots and embracing the traditions of our family. Your son sounds like a terrific kid!
