Seeing as I’ve failed now, I will say: I’m supporting…..Hillary. Why? Because her political and social philosophy are most congruent with mine. I see much of the criticism against her as a function of both men and women having hyperreactions to how she comes off as a woman. “She needs to be softer, warmer, more sympthetic.” Oh, please, that truly is Bullshit. Tell that to Angela Merkel (among others). As for the other criticisms of her–the Benghazi BS, and the email BS and all the other GOP-inspired BS over the years directed at both Clintons–puleeze, this is the political arena, folks. Read a little Machiavelli…and look over the acts and actions of the blessed founders of our country. Finally (at this moment), what particularly pisses me off are young women and men who complain that Hillary is a bitch. Well, yes, being a bitch is what it takes for a strong woman to succeed in the world. There’s a meme going around on Facebook that has Tina Fey and Amy Pohler saying the same, and that they too are bitches. As am I. And, Maggie Vandergon, as I suspect are you.

BTW, sorry for the verbiage…blame it on my being overeducated and, because I’m a woman, underemployed.

So who are YOU supporting for President and why???

I’m glad you found us. Right after I read your comment, my sister told me of an author she met who wrote a book called Project Renewment, which is supposed to be for coping with “retirement” after you’ve had a career.

The “very old” was a self-deprecation hold over from recently being let go from my position being told I that didn’t fit into the new corporate direction. A forty + year career gone in a matter of minutes along with my pride as I was walked out the door. And while the economy in Alberta has many losing their jobs, those just as old and others younger, along their homes we like our Southern friends do what we can to make light of a bad situation.

Thus my search for like-minded souls online to connect with as am writing my books on aging and other things. My choice of a new career.

That was how I found your site, and I’m glad I did, even if being reprimanded before we have had time to get to know one another.

I wish you good luck with your very interesting and entertaining election process.

PS my Eastern friends (Nova Scotia) seem to have missed The Donald promising to build a north wall too. Not sure if that is to keep you in or us out.

I’m so happy to see you. I’m glad you like this iteration (just love that word…such possibilities it promises). I like it too. And I’m trying to get back in the habit of regular blogging, so #bullet-pointedbullshit may become a category of its own.

You’re “very old” at 71? Who have you been hanging out with? Or is it a Canadian thing inherited from the English who refer to those 50+ as Old Age Pensioners? Well, here in the States, we’re not having that. Our independence includes the ability to not be old until we think and feel old.

Now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, let me say that I agree wholeheartedly with your remarks about our election. And, to continue the independence trope, “I’ll defend to the death your right to say them….” Your fellow Canadians are having a good, okay, a jolly time making jokes about how many of us intend to immigrate should Trump be elected. NovaScotia will tip into the sea if all of us who are threatening to come do.

I also love, love, love the concept of “bullet-pointed bullshit”. As far as this year’s election cycle and now the Scalia circus, it’s true that reality is stranger than fiction – you couldn’t make this stuff up.

So no offence intended to anyone, if it was offensive consider the source and old demented lady.
