Wednesday Writers Workshop: Writing Practice

Here’s the thing about being a one man band: if you get sick, there’s no one else to play the instruments.  Thus, 2012, which started out on MidLifeBloggers with such vim, vigor, energy and many posts has now drifted down to this.  However, I’m determined to get back in the saddle (and to use as many cliches as I can)…

The Workshop today is back to free-writing.  Or, more precisely, Writing Practice.  This is what you do when you set a timer for 10 or 15 or 20 minutes and just let yourself write whatever, however, as it comes to you.  You’ll be amazed at what you come up with, I promise.  No censors.  No plans.  No goals beyond writing non-stop for the time period that you choose.

What do you see in this photo?  Where does it take you?

I’ll post where it takes me tomorrow.

Thanks, Jane. I haven’t written in a while and really needed to get myself going again. This was a great impetus. I really enjoyed just playing and toying with ideas. Amazing how something so simple as a rose could bring up so much.

Hi, Jane. That was a good exercise. I don’t think what I wrote is very good, but it did get me writing. Thanks.
