Introducing: MidLifeBloggers & Beyond

MLB & Beyond 250

A couple of months ago, I published, “Aging Out and Owning Up“ a post I’d written in late summer when I was starting to ask that question (again!): What do I want to be  when I grow up–except this time, it was ‘when I grow old.’

In that post, I talked about some entity called MidLifeBloggers & Beyond, but I hadn’t a clue what I meant. I just knew that I wanted to take MidLifeBloggers beyond where it started out and I wanted to make it even more relevant for those in my cohort.

It’s been an organic evolution, as I’ve worked to understand where I want us to go and how we’ll be able to get there. The evolution will, as all things do, continue, but  I have a clear vision of what MidLifeBloggers & Beyond is right now. And some strong plans for our future. Today I’m announcing the first part of that: the MidLifeBloggers & Beyond Google+ Community.

There’s no question that midlife and boomer bloggers are looking to step into the marketplace. MidLifeBloggers & Beyond believes that its time to become pro-active in fostering the social media marketing relationship between brands and midlife bloggers.  This Google+ Community is the place where we can support each other in that effort by

  • brainstorming for viable ideas that can be pitched to specific brands

  • sharing information about brands and PR people

  • sharing information about the business of social media marketing

  • sharing our news, good and bad

MidLifeBloggers tag line–our credo–is “Making the Most of Midlife Together.”  MidLifeBloggers & Beyond adds just one word to that: Making the Most of Midlife Marketing Together!

This is a private community where we can take a pro-active stance in developing the midlife marketplace, and I hope you’ll join us. You need to be on Google+ (which you should be anyway!) and here again is the link to MidLifeBloggers & Beyond.

This is just the beginning, the first half of the story, but you’ll need to be a member of the community to come along for the full ride!

Oy! One more platform to master :/ I suppose if you promise to make it fun, I will come to the G+ side :)

    • Jane Gassner

I think G+ is less confusing than FB, Vicki, if only because they don’t keep changing the rules–and it’s all interconnected with all of the other Google platforms. That alone means a lot to building a blog and/or site.
