The Taste of Tonx Coffee

IMG_1699I am definitely a fan of buying on-line. Clothes, books, cosmetics, and now coffee. It’s not that I object to brick and mortar shopping so much as I love the feeling that every day is Christmas when the mailman brings me a box of whatever. I was, therefore, more than excited when Tonx Coffee asked me to try their subscription service.

So excited in fact that I said yes without actually registering that the coffee, fresh-roasted by them, would be sent as beans. Tonx coffee beansI don’t know why it didn’t register as anyone who is a coffee lover–and I am–knows that the best brew is made from freshly ground beans.

Unfortunately, however, the coffee grinder was one of the many things I precipitously shed on the move to LA (along with the pasta maker and the bread maker), but I was not going to let that stop me. I hied myself to a nearby shop and bought myself a new coffee grinder.

Then I came home, put the kettle on, ground me some beans and made one fine cup of coffee. We are French press people and the fact that I was grinding the beans myself meant I could get them as coarse as they should be.

Frothed MilkI even frothed some milk because it seemed like beans that had been, as Tonx are, roasted within days of reaching me deserved that. I did not, however, draw those elaborate scrolls in the froth because, frankly, I don’t know how.

Of course, the true trial was the next morning, early, when I was stumbling around in the kitchen making the coffee. No froth, just a damned good cup of coffee.

The Tonx team is made up of experts with years of experience from seed to cup. They know that home-brewed coffee can be just as good as your favorite cafe. It’s not as hard as baristas make it out to be – but it all starts with fresh beans, which you can’t get if you buy bags of beans from grocery stores. Pre-ground coffee is even worse. Great coffee actually has very little to do with fancy gadgets and expensive gizmos.

The best part? Your Tonx Coffee subscription is very easy to manage, and they have great customer service because we appreciate every customer. They will always be transparent with how your subscription is being managed, and it’s very easy to pause, cancel, or adjust your quantity for your needs. If you ever need tips or advice on how to get the most out of your coffee, they are always available to chat.
