A different kind of Rose Bowl story…

I realized today that a benefit of having left Los Angeles is that I have not had to listen to interminable coverage of the Rose Bowl. I have no interest in the Parade, the floats, the fans obsessing over petals. I’m also not much of a football fan (basketball, now that’s another story), so I don’t know or care who is playing and who might or might not win. Mostly when I lived in LA, I was amused by the tourists in for the Game who would show their total ignorance of LA weather and custom by assuming that LA meant hot weather clothing. You could always tell the tourists by their blue knees in their short shorts.

However, today’s LA Times has a Rose Bowl story that does interest me. The 1990 USC team–where are they now and how have they done in life? Now that’s a story…. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-rbintro1jan01,0,3450417.story?page=1&coll=la-home-local
