Blogher recently announced the date and place of the 2009 summer conference: the weekend of July 24th in Chicago. They also put out a Call For Ideas. And then a couple of days ago, Elisa Camahort, one of the founders of BlogHer, sent me an email in which she said:
BlogHer is passionate about delivering the most inclusive and diverse experience to our conference-goers that we possibly can, including (and particularly) on our speaking roster. Not only do we look for diverse speakers, but we have a commitment to bring new speakers to BlogHer. Every single year we aim to feature new corners of the blogosphere and to have the majority of speakers at BlogHer be new and fresh voices, focusing more on those than on “stars.”
What she’s asking for are ideas, large and small, for topics and speakers to present at this year’s Conference. This is a brilliant opportunity for us, the MidLifers, to put our oar in. We must say what we want and need in order to get it, that’s Rule One of being a successful woman, right? So start imagining your perfect BlogHer Conference. Let Elisa know, or tell me here, and I’ll make sure she gets it.
