The Creative Process Revealed: The Conclusion

Project Completed

by Cyndee Starr of Eloise’s Collage

My fabric collage is finished. And in time to submit to the gallery for their Fiber Arts Show. Yay!!!!

If you caught my first posting about my inspiration for this project, you’ll see from the pictures that I made some changes along the way. There is never a map or an exact plan just some basic ideas.

Layout…

First cuts...

Bead selection...

Since I went with a Kimono shape, I had to change the hanger to bamboo strips. The chopsticks just weren’t long enough. Then I added extra embellishments, beads and buttons. I played around with the fabric arrangement till it felt right. Then I fused and stitched.

Bead detail....

Bamboo...

Then the fun began, playing with trim, different stitches, a little paint and buttons. A lot of experimenting: some as to where to put the embellishments? How to attach the collage to the bamboo?Always some indecision. Then a few more beads.  And then–it’s done.
