Blogroll Done Been Pruned
Well, that was a job! I slashed my way through umpteen no-longer-posting blogs. With a couple of exceptions, if someone hasn’t posted in 2011, then they got the axe. If that was you and I did it in error, let me know.
I also transferred several blogs to the Community Blog Roll which is after the individual blogroll. And I axed a couple of sites that seemed purely commercial–how the hell did they get in there?
Any comments? Corrections? Commendations?

@Cathy,
The honor is all ours….!
Jane,
Thanks for keeping us on the blog roll. It is an honor to be a part of midlifebloggers.com. Keep on keepin’ on!
I just did some spring pruning myself at my house. Some of those blogs I hadn’t been to in awhile, nor they to me. Thanks for including me on your blogroll.
@fiftypushing:
The blogroll offers a link to all the bloggers that want to be a part of MidLifeBloggers. What you’re talking about with your list of eight is more of a reader.
Glad to hear about the pruning. I’ve always wondered how come so many people have such long lists of blogs they read. I have expanded mine to about 8, which I look at quite regularly.
@ridgely:
what is the url for your blog? not sure why you got left off, since you are very much present on the site!

@ridgely,
The deed is done.
I read your original post on Quotidian Iterations and Pruning the Blogroll and got busy and didn’t post my thoughts on that post.
I really identified with DuchessOmnium’s comments and your reply about the quotidian and starting another blog where you can just blather. I’d like a whole fresh site where we can all just brew a cup of our favorite beverage, put on our comfy pants, and just blather. Maybe I’ll just try your blogroll for that. And if anyone else is interested in my mindless blather, I’m at In The Wheel.
I was just reading Growing Bolder. It seemed too self-consciously over-achieving for those growing older. I felt I should go out and climb a mountain or create a Fortune 500 company, instead of sitting and enjoying reading blogs. Thank goodness this site doesn’t make me feel that pressured.

@red hamster,
I’m taking your comment to heart and will try to figure out a place where we can meet and blather. That’s exactly why I started MidLifeBloggers–certainly not to tell anyone what to do. If there was a forum on the site, would you use it regularly? I have the capability to create one, but I’m wondering if it will be a party no one comes to.

@byjane,
I’m not much for forums where everyone shouts about politics or something. I guess I was thinking more of perhaps your blogroll featuring a link to “fresh” postings, so everyone could see if there was something new to read. And sadly, I often go a week where I’m just too busy and tired to check blogs. I’m afraid it’s just a symptom of age for all of us of a certain age.
Yes, I have my Blogger Reading List and Friend Connect and all that, but I don’t pay much attention to them. I don’t do Facebook because I frankly don’t want my co-workers to know I have a blog. So am I saying that I just want a simple easy read of fresh posts, sort of a little bright spot in the day, rather than a venue that requires constant back & forth communication? I’m not sure myself. Hoping at least that I’m helping you clarify your direction, since this is your web site. Thanks for listening.

Red- I cannot spell Mount Kilominjaro much less climb it/ I’m trying to keep to one nap a day
That’s a bit of a job! I need to do pruning of the blogs I subscribe to and don’t always read.
I have stopped writing on Delicacies, so you can delete if you want, though I’ll leave it up for a while. I’ve gone back to writing anonymously under another name- there’s so much to say that one might not want to associate with one’s real name!!
I’d love for you to add my other 2, specifically http://awomanspage.com. The other is http://apageofmyown.com, but it doesn’t always deal with mid-life specific issues.

@walker
I’ll hasten over to where the blogroll lives and make the changes.
Jane- I never made it to the first blogroll ;-( hoping to make it to the second. I’m moving a little s l o w this month, but I promise I’m still posting-
ps- I do love your blogroll
@Barbara,
It’s kinda fun. But then I enjoy plucking my eyebrows too.
Darlin’ – I know you’re still there!
Thank you for leaving me on the blogroll! I will post again one day.
I need to do this myself – I’ve been working on it in bits and pieces, but really just need to sit and finish it. (I hope I didn’t get the axe!)
