What’s the point of having a Blog Roll if all you’re showing is a list of blogs–even if they are nicely alphabetized? I ask you. And I tell you: barely any point at all. In the beginning, way back oh those many years ago, I would post links to the bloggers who had recently joined us. I gave up, sometime around the same time as I gave up a lot of other things I should have been doing (no one can set up guilt induction like I can). Herewith I announce that I am resuming that practice, but seeing as I have SUCH A LOT OF BLOGS TO CATCH UP ON, I’ll do it three or four or maybe two at a time. But–and this is a big but–I’ll annotate it. Not for me the measley practice of merely listing blog links; I’m going to give you the low down on each–I believe this may be called a recommendation.
- Rebecca Minnick,of My Midlife Upgrade, describes herself as “a wife, mother, grandmother, liberal and public relations/marketing professional who is trying to make some sense of where I am at my age. You know, just trying to be comfortable and fulfilled and not feel — or look — like an OLD LADY.” Read her lament on the familiar weight loss issue that we all face in 9 Pounds, 4 Weeks.
- Nancy Wurtzel is another PR professional (and sometime creative writer) whose blog, Dating Dementia, chronicles her life as a single mother of a teenaged daughter who is living in Southern California. She explains the genesis of her blog’s name in Don’t Be Afraid.
- Tin Cup describes himself as ”a father, a husband, a writer and a man on the verge of becoming fifty.” His blog, Forty9 and Counting, is a humorous look at the other side of the gender divide, including a discourse on the Difference Between Men and Women.
