Was this the summer you promised yourself you’d really get working on your memoir? It’s not too late, you know.

Writing Workshop

I’m offering this half-day workshop in my home to a limited number of writers. We’ll write, we’ll read, and we’ll share our experiences both good and bad in writing memoir. This is very much a hands-on workshop in which everyone will have a chance to be heard.

The cost is $100, which includes lunch. To reserve your place, call me, text me, email me (byjane73@gmail.com) or leave a comment here.

I will be requiring that prepayment be made by the 10th of August, at which time I’ll give you directions to my house in Sherman Oaks.

Getting Older, Getting Better with AARP’s Life Reimagined

I’d like to say that today, the woman who runs this site, The Other Side of Sixty, is calmer, more controlled, and surer of where she’s going. But that would be a lie.

Sigma Tau Alpha STS, the venerable Greek House

To be good at social media is to understand the marketplace, the machinations of the brands, and the way people's minds work. It's an equation that defies Ten Easy Steps and moves somewhere into the fine art of social psychology. I love it.

So what have I been up to for the past six months? Writing to earn a living.

Disrupt Aging

I would say that the next step from complaining (in blogs and the like) about culture and media and all the other Theys who we blame for telling us what we are is to actively do something about it.

I’m a boomer and SEO is supposed to be beyond my understanding. I. Don’t. Think. So. My stats for this site are pathetic; how will my stats improve after I’ve learned SEO?

Thinking About Writing About Aging

I have been thinking and writing–and therefore thinking about writing–about this aging trip we’re (I’m) on for almost ten years now. Yikes! And yikes again! In that time I’ve changed […]

Back to Blogging

We are now two months into this little adventure, and I am so ready to be out and about again. Since I’m still housebound, I’ve decided to do the one thing I still can: blog. I’ve already started on The Other Side of Sixty; now it’s this site’s turn.

Any of this resonate with anyone else????? This is, I’m pleased to say, a real blog post and as such, you can comment on it. And I’ll comment back. And we’ll have a conversation. Like in the olden days….
