Non-profundities

I just looked up the spelling of that word… Ever since a friend checked on this site and remarked on a misspelling–something that happens only once in the proverbial blue mood–I have been paranoid about my grammar, etc. That I–an overeducated English lit person, ABD and all, not to mention my long past as a writing prof, as well as my far distant stint as a journalist–should make an error in the written word…why, tis unthinkable–or something. Still and all (what the hell does that mean?), be it now announced henceforth and evermore that I shall NOT edit my blog for grammar, punctuation, or spelling. You’re getting it as I’m giving it: unadulterated Gassner.

it’s great fun, isn’t it…but commas seem to come naturally to me.

I’m enjoying the stream of conciousness of your blog, and vote for you to forego correct spelling and perhaps consider leaving out punctuation while you at it like this Its the thought that counts!! —Mr.B’s Ma

LJ does have a spell check feature, though I must confess I never use it.

I do read and reread somewhat obsessively looking for typos and stylistic oopsies.
