There is something less than inviting about typing my journal in this LJ form. And Semagic is even less appealing. I want some font choices…appealing backgrounds…this is all so sterile and gives me writer’s block. I’ve spent a lifetime writing for a living, but that doesn’t mean I can write any old place and way. And I’m not alone, come to think of it. Read Steinbeck’s East of Eden Papers–his journal while he was wriiting E of E. It’s full of the proper pencil point and length that he needs, etc. etc. There’s something magicalabout the writing utensils one uses. I’m always waiting for that perfect pen, with which my genius will finally be realized. Or something like that.

If you customize and then write your entries from the website, rather than a client, it would solve at least the background problem.
It isn’t the look of my jounal as it appears on LJ that bothers me; it’s the look as I make the entry. Perhaps the answer is to write my entries in Word and cut and paste.
You can customize the look of your journal! Go here for more information.
