No fooling…

I have missed April Fool’s Day. Instead I am reading about battered women and domestic violence, or DV as we in the psych biz call it. This is not a funny subject, but I, as usual, cannot make myself take on the proper tone. When I’m reading about the topic, I’m right in there, horrified, etc. etc. etc. appropriately. But then I turn to LJ and get somewhat goofy. Which I am squelching, just as battered women squelch their emotions.

I’ve been reading Douce, and I’m amazed at the content of it. It’s so, so, so –what? light? self-absorbed? I’m still trying to figure out what and why people write blogs. Probably multiple reasons. One blogger wrote he was doing it to keep his writing style up. Others, Douce perhaps, seem a tad narcissistic. I keep thinking of my fourth grade self flipping my skirt up on the school bus ride home to get attention.
