Disaster, frustration, and woe…

Thursday night in a fit of overzealousness I stuffed two quilts in the washing machine.  They were proceding through their cycle rather nicely, albeit a bit slllllooooowwwwlllly, when I heard a clunk from the laundry area.  I paid it no mind, of course.  Clunks are often heard around here.  Why, just the other night we were wakened in the early AM with just such a sound, which one of us thought was something falling and the other thought was a gunshot.  We paid that no mind as well.  But I digress….  It soon became apparent that there was a large something hanging where it shouldn’t be.  A mechanical something.  And D. discovered that it was a switch…to the whole washer gizmo, I suppose.   So, now the washer is broken.

Friday morning I sat at the computer, minding my own early morning business and my Starbucks grande drip with cream distintegrated in my hand.  Truly.  The cup just split down the seam, imploding as it were.  It was a full cup.  The coffee went everywhere–but particularly into my keyboard.  We drained it and D dried it lovingly with the hair dryer, but to no avail.  It were a goner.  So much of yesterday, when I should have been learned the six pages of single space terms from the Drug & Alcohol class, I was instead buying a new keyboard.  Which I am now using.

There is more to this frustrating tale, but I must go learn said six pages…
