Decent political news from the House

Submitted by byjane on Thursday, 2 February 20063 Comments

The Republicans at last got rid of eau de Tom DeLay by electing Boehner as their new majority leader. He defeated Blunt of Missouri, who was DeLay’s little pal. Boehner is described as having “feuded” with DeLay in the past. Clearly a man of integrity–and now, it seems, foresight.

Further research (asking the spousage) has taught us that Rep. Boehner was the one who got caught passing out checks from tobacco lobbyists on the floor of the House.

Talking Points Memo’s got links to more of his dastardly deeds/

    I pronounce his name “Boner.”

As Groucho Marx once said of Peter O’Toole, he has a double-phallic name.*

    __________
*As told by (and to) Dick Cavett.
