Visual Artists: A Call For Submissions
MidLifeBloggers continues to grow and evolve and become its own thing. Right now the Orange Tent seems to be sheltering a lot of writers, and that’s good. That’s the way I meant it to be. But writing is only one things we blog about and it’s only one means of expressing the stuff of midlife. Where’s the photography? Where are the collages? Where are the bloggers who work with fiber? And where are the drawings and paintings and sculpture? Where are, in short, the visual artists?
Please make MidLifeBloggers a place where you can show your work, try it out, get support from your sisters and practice the takeoffs and landings that will fly you onto your next destination. It doesn’t have to be a finished product. Do you have a work in progress that you could chronicle for us? How about a piece that’s almost there, but somethin’ just ain’t right about it? Or is there a backstory to a photo or collage that makes it really unique for you?
Send me photos and idea and projects underway. If this is something you blog about, then we want to see it: byjane73@gmail.com

hi jane,
i have tons of art that i could display here but am just getting organized, might be good for me to have a deadline of some sort, knowing my issues with procrastination. i am just starting on a project now that might be of interest to you in this category since i am about to chronicle it on my own blog. should i tell you here or on email? it’s a project for a breast center that i am going to donate in honor of breast awareness month, i am meeting with them tomrorrow to make a mosaic for them and hopefully will be done sometime in october. think it would be just what you’d want, so let me know. it’s good to kickstart myself for my own art which i have completely neglected.
i am planning to chronicle this from day one, which is really tomorrow, not sure how much i’ll do on my blog but will do it regularly as i go along.
thanks, Darryle

katherine: Sounds good. I’ll check your site and maybe we can talk by email.
darryle: fantastic idea…I’ll email you tonight.
I’ve been blogging (www.nerdychick2001.blogspot.com) about the trials and tribulations of being a painter in San Francisco – a second career after being a scientist for a biotechnology company. My kids are grown and I am in the midlifeblogger age range. In my blog, I include my own works in progress but also competitions, news, reviews of art shows, and anything that inspires me. I’ve been blogging since May 2007 and have been posting something almost on a daily basis.
