WE’RE BACK…

Submitted by byjane on Saturday, 27 December 20088 Comments

...just taking a break.  We’ll be back in the New Year.

And now that break is well over.  You’ve noticed, of course, our new design, a less bloggy, more magazine-y look for the site, which we feel is more appropriate to the spirit and intent of MidLifeBloggers.   Each new post will go first into the Headline position (prominent on the left top).  When the next Headline post comes along, the original will become a Featured post and move into the rotating carousel on the top right.

There are now Five Main Categories that all the posts fit into.  What MidLifeBloggers are saying about…

Our Bodies Everything having to do with what we see (and don’t) in the mirror.  This includes clothes, hair, cosmetics, plastic surgery, aging bodies, exercise, diet and anything else that has to do with how we look.

Our Careers The work we do and what we wish we did or didn’t do.  Changing careers, going back to school, second careers (or, as in my case, third or fourth), early retirement, working at home, downsizing, upsizing, starting a business, social networking, PR and advertising, and anything else to do with our vocations, avocations, and how we earn our daily bread.

Our Minds Our emotional selves and the quests we’re on, how we see ourselves in our world and how we see the world itself,  our religious beliefs and our spirituality–or lack of same, the stuff of therapy and psychodynamics and anything else that has to do with our lives outside of our physicality.

Our Relationships All of them, including our spouses, mates, lovers, dates, exes, and all states of such relationships.  Our parents, our kids, our friends, both on- and off-line.  Anything at all that has to do with our connection to one or many others.

Our World All the stuff of the newscasts and papers, local, national and international.  What we think about the economy, politics, women’s rights, the law, war, peace, ecology.  And what we think about others who are writing about The World–in other words, reviews of all media.

And–you can’t miss the  illustrations that are now accompanying each post.  Right now, they’re stills; soon, video will be available as well.

This is, of course since you know me, not the final version of this template.  There is a new logo aborning (and yes, it will have some orange in it)–and some other fine tuning as well.  Let me know what you think….
