It’s almost Christmas! Actually I’m almost ready! We are going up north to celebrate Christmas with our Sacramento family (the daughters of my late best friend, Sondy). We’ve all done Christmas together for years now, but this is the first one without Sondy. However, it’s also the first one with Mason, who was born on September 10. He is Michelle’s (and Chris’s) baby and she’s the younger daughter. And it’s the first Christmas in the older daughter, Wendy’s (and Jimmie’s) brand spanking new gorgeous house. None of which Sondy got to see.

However, I think I was channeling her yesterday, buying gifts for the girls, because it felt totally different than when I usually buy stuff. I’m a sllloooowwww shopper, have to look at everything at least once and the stuff I like twice, before weighing the pros and cons of this thing or that. Sondy was a whirlwind in a store. She moved fast (she was short, and therefore low to the ground(!)), and bought what she saw, when she saw it, if she liked it–and never stopped to weigh the consequences or even consider that maybe just maybe there was something she would like a tiny bit better at the next store. I think our shopping sstyles were Rorschach’s of a sort–and I think hers was the healthier!

Don’t know when I’ll blog again, but, hey y’all, HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
