Here’s the finished scarf. I love the way the colors blend into each other.

    Yes, although an automatic washer does the “pounding”. One just puts it in the washer on the hotest cycle with a little soap, and presses ‘go’. In the States, felting is all the rage now. It started with these hats and then slippers and has now moved onto bags and purses and all manner of stuff. I’m doing a bag now.

    That’s so pretty! I like the hat, as well. Are these things knitted and then ‘felted’ by washing in really hot water and pounding them?
    That’s sort of what I used to do to knitted garments quite unintentionally.
